On June 2, the participants of the RenomeLab program which started in the fall at RENOME SMART, graduated. In the Maysternia mista, students held a presentation of the project "eParkovka". This project aims to solve the problem of chaotic parking in the city and create a digital platform convenient for Rivne residents and city authorities.
A team of 6 students under the coordination of mentors with RENOME SMART analyzed the international experience in implementing parking services, traffic and problem areas of the city. Thus, information was collected and a special digital service for parking regulation was created.
The presentation was attended by representatives of the Municipal Guard of the city, representatives of IT companies and other members of the IT cluster.
Students have been developing this project for almost half a year.
“We offer the city a parking system for both open and closed parking lots. This system will help citizens to park conveniently. This will eliminate the problem of chaotic parking, when someone puts their car halfway and others have no space. Residents also receive a service in the form of a mobile application, as we are digitizing the entire city. For Rivne, it is the filling of the city budget, first of all. For owners of closed parking lots - this is a profitable system. It pays off quickly and is available for sale.”

According to the students, the business model of closed parking lots is currently ready for implementation, which can be adopted by private individuals or the city. Such a parking lot, for example, can be equipped in the area near the mall "Zlata Plaza".
According to developers' calculations, the city currently loses about 3 million hryvnias per kilometer on Soborna Street every year. In the case of the implementation of "eParkovka" and after the cost of equipment for parking spaces, the budget of Rivne will receive stable revenues.
According to the presented project, drivers will be met with warning signs and smart cameras in the parking lots, which will record the fact that the car has stopped and license plates. There will also be parking lots on site to monitor drivers' payments.
Rivne motorists will be provided with 15 minutes of free parking. Once this time is up, a paid parking period will begin, which can be paid for at parking meters or through the app.
Currently, RenomeLab students are waiting for feedback from the city to improve the project and adapt it to Rivne conditions.
By the way, the team has also developed the application - it is currently being finalized and tested.
